January 5, 2023What are the real wins from “How to Human” training?
Everything in life is about relationships. Without these, it’s impossible to build anything worthwhile. Relationships at home (partner, children, parents, etc.) and at work (superiors, colleagues, partners, clients, etc.) are crucial to success, regardless of the goals. It IS possible to get on well and build trusting relationships with everyone, but it requires knowledge, skills and practice. Once solid relationships are established, it is much easier to go on to achieve your objectives.
For the first time, the skills of influencing and reading people as applied in intelligence and (military) security are available to anyone interested! How to Human is not just another training course that only teaches you how to negotiate or resolve conflicts. It’s a hands-on day that will give you the opportunity to understand the dynamics and fundamentals of human communication and human nature, and which, thanks to a proven approach, will enable anyone to become a more effective communicator and harness the skills they have acquired in any situation.
A Worthy Investment
By learning the cunning tools of purposeful communication, you disarm your opponent. You’ll be able to press the right buttons on your counterpart so that they don’t suspect a thing. Once you know how to do this, it’s very easy to negotiate, for example, about money (asking for more, haggling over price) and other things (‘steering’ someone to do something).
What knowledge and skills will you gain from the training?
Building relationships with trust
We all know the saying “Ask and you shall receive!” But one thing left unsaid is that most of the time, you will only receive it if you have a good relationship. Once you’ve built a trusting, understanding, mutually respectful relationship with someone, it’s very easy to negotiate and achieve goals. Establishing a trusting relationship is the most important step at the beginning of any acquaintance or working relationship. In this training, we will talk about and try out how to build and maintain relationships that last and delight both parties.
Understanding body language
Being able to read another person’s body language gives us a huge advantage in communication. People convey only 7% of the message using words. The rest is done by body language. If a person is saying one thing, but their facial expressions, gestures and body posture are telling you something else, you will be able to quickly spot hidden intentions. Reading body language is a great aid, especially in tense conversations, such as a work-related negotiation. Understanding body language (and consciously using it yourself) is a clear advantage over your competitor, even if your arguments are less convincing.
Profiling and analysis of others
If we know how to profile, we can, for example, put together a team that works for a particular job. We get to know and understand the people on our team better. We can find out what motivates them and what fears hold them back. As the saying goes, “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.” Knowing how to choose the right people for your team, and supporting, encouraging and motivating each other will help you achieve great things. So if you want to choose your team more consciously next time, it’s important to master profiling skills.
Information elicitation techniques
How can you obtain important information without having to ask for it directly? To make the counterpart reveal it to us, as if on their own initiative? Information elicitation techniques not only allow us to use it on others, but also help us to detect others’ disingenuous intentions towards us.
Planning and leading conversations
Preparation is the key to success! If we know what we want to get and have planned out a possible path for the conversation we will avoid unexpected situations. That way, we can reach the desired destination in every interaction. In this training, we will learn how to plan our conversations starting from the greeting all the way to the goodbye. As a result, you’ll be a more confident and effective communicator.
Many of us tend to be introverts, and although we communicate on a daily basis, for many it is not comfortable or natural. Coming to this training takes some courage. Without courage you will not be a good communicator. Fortunately, courage can be trained. If a person can’t swim, there’s no point in taking them to the ocean to start with. It’s worth starting at the pool, where your feet reach the bottom. The practical exercises in How to Human are arranged exactly like this.
